Olena Nicks is a first-time candidate running for Hempstead Town Clerk. Hempstead is the largest township in America, which Democrat Nicks points out should be run in a bipartisan fashion – providing the services necessary to the community – and not necessarily having to do with party lines. Hempstead has been under Republican control for most of its history.
