Queens lawmaker seeks additional federal relief funds to help New Yorkers recover from Hurricane Ida

Following President Biden’s approval of emergency and major disaster declarations for New York, Congress members Grace Meng and Adriano Espaillat are requesting even more federal relief to help New Yorkers recover the devastation caused by the remnants of Hurricane Ida. 

The lawmakers sent a bipartisan letter on Wednesday, Sept. 8, to the leaders of the House Appropriations Committee asking them to write a bill that would provide the highest amount of federal funds possible for New York.
