AOC helps raise $1 million in 4 hours for storm-stricken Texas amid Ted Cruz’s Cancun fiasco

In four hours’ time Thursday — roughly the equivalent of a non-stop, round-trip flight between Houston, Texas and Cancun, Mexico — Bronx/Queens Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez raised $1 million to help residents in the frozen Lone Star State.

The drive occurred amid the scandal surrounding Texas Senator Ted Cruz, who was caught fleeing for the warmth of Cancun on Feb. 17 as millions of his constituents dealt with power outages, loss of water services and freezing conditions.
