New York County Politics will be taking this Monday off, in observance of the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur.

Yom Kippur is the day of atonement, in which we acknowledge our sins of the past year and begin the new one with a clean slate. To preserve the sanctity of the day, Jews are prohibited from doing any work for the entire day.

I would like to ask for forgiveness for any bias or holes in my reporting during the previous year. I pledge to be a fairer, more diligent editor going forward.

The site will resume its regular schedule on Tuesday, Sep. 29.
