More than 5,000 mourners packed Cadman Plaza yesterday for a memorial service for George Floyd, an African-American man who all killed May 25 after white Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin was videoed with his knee on his neck for mere than nine minutes.

Chauvin has been charged with second-degree homicide, third-degree homicide and second-degree manslaughter. Police officers J. Alexander Kueng, Thomas Lane and Tou Thao, who were also involved in the detainment are being charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder and aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter.

The incident sparked massive national protests, including some riots and looting all – all on a scale not seen since the national Civil Rights movement of the 1960s. KCP Co-Founder and Staff Photographer Tsubasa Berg was there to record the memorial.
