Stephen Witt and Kelly Mena discuss the contentious race for the open seat in the special election for the 45th City Council District.

The district includes Flatbush, East Flatbush, Flatlands, Midwood and Canarsie and there are currently eight candidates still in the race.

Issues facing the district include affordable housing, congestion pricing, public transportation options and education amongst others.

The candidates are:

The Special Election will be held Tuesday, May 14.
