Bay Democrats Have Successful October Meeting

Bay Democrats club had a very successful October meeting – with packed room, many elected officials and community leaders from all over the Southern Brooklyn.

Club members celebrated the big re-election victory of District Leader Margarita Kagan who received 69% of total votes on September 13 and won in every neighborhood of the diverse 45th District.

District Leaders Margarita Kagan and Ari Kagan (no relation) thanked all club members for their hard work and strong support. Bay Democrats welcomed Senator Diane Savino, Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz and Councilman Mark Treyger.

The winner of the Democratic Primary for Civil Court Judge in Southern Brooklyn Gina Levy came to thank club members for their support. Attorney and prominent community leader Brian Gotlieb announced the upcoming fundraising event for his charitable organization – Shorefront Toys for Tots.

Acting Supreme Court Judge Theresa Ciccotto as well as former judicial candidates Olga Fort and Elaine Schack-Rodriguez, attorneys Yuriy Yaroslavskiy, Rachel Kaylie and Saul Stein also joined the meeting.

Democratic candidate for State Senate Andrew Gounardes talked about the importance of his race against Republican Senator Marty Golden. Bay Democrats congratulated Democratic District Leader David Schwartz (48th District – Boro Park and Midwood) on his overwhelming victory on Primary Day.

Meisner’s Kosher Catering and Eat N’ Run Café provided great food for the Bay Democrats meeting. As usual for this club, there was a very interesting and productive discussion about local and national issues.
