While many historians of the American Civil Rights movement recognize the role that several prominent rabbis played in marching with Martin Luther King Jr., or Jews who gave their lives as freedom riders trying to register black voters in the south, few know that it was an African-American that played a crucial role in establishing the state of Israel.

Thus, check out the story of  Ralph Bunche told through Assemblyman Walter T. Mosley (D-Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights), recipient of the Ralph Bunche Award that recognizes African American activists who have demonstrated significant leadership in advancing the U.S. – Israel relationship as well as critical issues affecting our communities here at home.
