Brooklyn Teen Republican Club Hosts Mayoral Candidate Michel Faulkner

On Thursday March 30, the Brooklyn Teen Republican Club held their third meeting at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1305 86th Street in Dyker Heights.

With almost double the membership since the first meeting, teens were very excited to hear from Mayoral Candidate Michel Faulkner.

As teen members eagerly awaited the arrival of Mr.Faulkner, they talked amongst themselves about the upcoming elections and politics.

The club president Batya Goldberg introduced the guest Speaker with a list of his many endeavors and accomplishments, most notable of which to club members was his work for former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, and his one year career in the NFL playing for the NY Jets.

The teen members were listening eagerly with both ears, to Mr.Faulkner, during his insightful and inspiring speech.

Later, the candidate accepted questions from teen members who were eager to ask about things like high school applications, the City budget, and more. The candidate gracefully answered each question without hesitation and clear answers, and applauded the youth for getting involved at such an early age.

Mr. Faulkner also invited many teens to volunteer for his campaign, which delighted many in attendance. Guests to the club, were captivated by the guest speaker no less than they were by the attentiveness of the teens, and their eagerness to ask questions and address crucial issues facing the City of New York.

Afterwards 43rd District City Council candidate Liam McCabe said a few introductory words, and the meeting commenced. The club was proud to have 30 people in attendance, with more teenagers than ever before. The club is exponentially growing its teen membership with people of diverse ethnicities, religions, and age spans.

And the next day Club President Batya Goldberg headed to Elite Academy in Bensonhurst where she spoke to students about joining the club, and got many eager teens talking about how they were interested in politics and joining the club.

The Republican Party in Brooklyn is very proud to have teenagers finally getting involved in politics and the political process, and Goldberg hopes her and her club’s efforts will spark a strong impetus for other teens across the country and the city.
