Brooklyn was in the house last night as the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce took their annual lobbying trip to the nation’s capital to meet with all of the borough’s federal lawmakers and other federal lawmakers to advocate for the local and nation’s business community.

The two-day trip culminated with  a Brooklyn Night where members from both sides of the aisle and their staffs were feted with some of Brooklyn’s delicacies. And Brooklyn’s leading shill for the borough in the nation’s capital led the charge.

“As a proud Brooklynite, born and raised in Flatbush, I was honored and excited to showcase for my colleagues all that our borough has to offer,” said U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer.

“Senators and congress members from all over the map were treated to delicious Brooklyn delicacies like Junior’s Cheesecake and Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs, as well as Steve’s Authentic Key Lime Pie. ‘Brooklyn Night’ was a huge success – thanks to the hard work of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, Senator Gillibrand and the entire Brooklyn congressional delegation.”

Schumer, along with Presidential Candidate and U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, sitting U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and four Nobel Prize winners graduated from Madison High School.
