In yesterday’s post, “Colton Picks Up Support And Political Enemies” there were several inaccuracies.
Assemblyman Bill Colton has never supported GOP Sen. Marty Golden, and in fact he told KCP he helped in the petitioning process in getting Democrat Andrew Gounardes on the ballot to run against Golden. Additionally, Colton supported Ben Akselrod in the Democratic primary against incumbent Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz, but did not support Akselrod when he ran on the Republican line in the general election. Finally, it is unclear as of this post time if Nicholas Zimmitti will challenge Colton in the next assembly primary should Colton run for Congress and not win the seat.
