Crown Heights Assemblyman Karim Camara is stepping down from the assembly to take a position in the Cuomo Administration, according to one credible source.
Sources say that Camara is in discussion about the position with the governor’s office, but nothing has been finalized as of yet.
Sources close to Camara said the position has nothing to do with the beleaguered Interfaith Hospital, but did confirm discussions were taking place with the Cuomo Administration. No announcement time has been set.
Besides representing Crown Heights in the assembly, Camara is also chair of the state’s Black, Latino and Asian Legislative Caucus.
