Councilman David G. Greenfield offered a $500 reward today for information leading to the safe return of Moshe Kanofsky, an influential Jewish leader in the Crown Heights community.
Kanofsky, 73, has been missing since last week Thursday, December 18, 2014 at about 3:30 p.m. He stands six feet tall, with blue eyes and gray hair and suffers from memory loss. He was last seen on Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue, wearing a red and black flannel shirt and a straw hat. Moshe Kanofsky also goes by the name Gerald Kane. He wears what has been described as casual, baggy and old, even ripped clothing.
Mr. Kanosfky is an influential Jewish leader who is Director of Government Programs for the Orthodox Union/TEACH NYS initiative and is well known for helping dozens of yeshiva administrators, as well as his extracurricular activities as a mentor to at-risk youth in Crown Heights.
