With the Nov. 4 general election less than two week’s away, the New York City Campaign Finance Board released the list of all candidates that will be on the ballot. With Kings County having the most registered Democrats than any county in the country, it no surprise that almost every elections listed below will be a blowout. Additionally, in several state assembly and senate elections the Democratic incumbents are running unopposed.
The one election worth watching is the 11th Congressional District race between Republican incumbent Michael Grimm and Democratic challenger Domenic Recchia. The district is mainly Staten Island, but also includes Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach, Gravesend and Dyker Heights. These areas of Brooklyn are the strongest in terms of Republicans as attested by the Borough’s only Republican State Senator, Marty Golden, represents the area. While Grimm is ahead in the polls, anything can happen in the last two weeks so the closely watched election remains a toss up at this point.
Below is the list of all the candidates.
