Lucas Zwirner is senior director at David Zwirner Gallery and oversees new business development and overarching content strategy for all aspects of the gallery’s publishing arm, which includes books, films, and podcasts. Zwirner is the son of David Zwirner, the owner of the gallery which has locations in New York, Los Angeles, London, Hong Kong and Paris. Lucas Zwirner and his sister, Marlene Zwirner, who is a director at the gallery, recently became the lead funders of “The Drift”, a New York City-based literary magazine where Lucas, who is also a writer and translator, has published art criticism. Zwirner serves as the host of “Dialogues: The David Zwirner Podcast,” a podcast about artists and the way they think, and uses his position to encourage conversation around the gallery’s artists. He graduated from Yale, earning a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and literature.
Linda Shelton
Executive Director, The Joyce Theater
Linda Shelton is the executive director and a trustee of The Joyce Theater Foundation. Before her tenure at The Joyce began in 1993, she served as general manager of the Joffrey Ballet, held various management positions at the Twyla Tharp Dance Foundation, and managed tours for the Bolshoi Ballet, Moscow Virtuosi, Sankai Juku, and composer Phillip Glass. Under her leadership, The Joyce Theater received the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Liberty Award (2011) and most recently the William Dawson Award for Programmatic Excellence and sustained achievement in programming. The theater recently announced they purchased a 58,000 square-foot multi-level building in New York City’s East Village, previously occupied by the Boys Club of New York. The Joyce aims to continue offering community services and amenities with an emphasis on the performing arts and especially dance.
