New York State Senate / District 31

Robert Jackson (D)

(Incumbent)

Candidate Site

As a parent activist, Robert Jackson started on a mission to end decades of Albany shortchanging NYC public schools. His groundbreaking lawsuit, and walk to Albany, resulted in a $16 billion judgment against the state.

In 2001, Robert Jackson was elected to the City Council – and three times overwhelmingly re-elected – where he sponsored the Small Business Survival Act and fought for fairness, justice and equality.

In 2018, his State Senate victory helped end decades of Republican control in Albany—and ushered in a wave of long-sought progressive gains and delivered historic levels of new funding for our public schools.
