Mariama James is an Assembly District 65 District Leader and longtime advocate who has delivered results for Lower Manhattan. She helped advance and expand the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, securing healthcare and compensation for over 140,000 New Yorkers. As co-founder of the 100% Affordable 5 World Trade Center coalition, she helped win 400+ deeply affordable units with priority for 9/11 survivors and first responders. With 20+ years in finance, she has served as a controller, Community Board 1 treasurer, PTA leader, and nonprofit board member, fighting for housing, public schools and working families.
