Brian is the son of Jamaican immigrant parents who instilled in him the values of public service from an early age. He attended New York City public schools and is a child of Flatbush.
Brian began his career as an advocate counselor for CAMBA, assisting at-potential youth in reaching their academic goals and overcoming barriers. He has served as a senior aide in numerous legislative offices within the New York State Senate and the New York City Council as well as with President Obama’s My Brother’s Keeper Alliance.
Brian and his wife Stephanie live together in Flatbush with their son, Senator, and their dog, Liberty.
