(Incumbent)

Candidate Site

Council Member Sandy Nurse is a progressive Democrat running for re-election to represent Bushwick, Brownsville, Cypress Hills, City Line, and East New York. She has fought to ensure our communities are not left behind, securing $412 million just in 2024 for new truly affordable housing, infrastructure, parks, safety lighting, and security cameras. As Sanitation Committee  chair, she led the Rat Action Plan and Zero Waste Act; now, as Criminal Justice Chair, she is advancing public safety reforms. With a record of bold leadership and real results, Sandy is committed to building a safer, stronger, and more just community for all.
