Erycka was born and raised in Corona by a determined single mother who immigrated from Colombia. She is a tenant and an experienced government worker with over 20 years of experience. Her mother worked hard as a union factory worker and a union health aide to raise Erycka and her sister. Now, Erycka is doing the same—proudly raising two children in Corona, the neighborhood she has always called home.
She currently works as associate deputy director of Intergovernmental Affairs at the New York City Council. She is running to represent Corona, East Elmhurst, LeFrak City, and parts of Jackson Heights.
