East Norwich Volunteer Fire Company Number 1 officials did not adequately monitor fuel inventory for loss, waste, or misuse from Jan. 1, 2023, to Nov. 30, 2024, according to an audit from the state Comptroller’s office.
The audit, released on March 27, found that 2,936 gallons of fuel, costing $7,603, were not accounted for by the fire company during the observed period.
