DOT reminds delivery apps they must give drivers protective equipment, get them to complete new safety course

The city Department of Transportation (DOT) is reminding third-party delivery apps of their legally mandated responsibilities to the roughly 80,000 workers they contract with to deliver food and groceries across the Big Apple.

The agency sent an April 7 letter, authored by Commissioner Mike Flynn, to several delivery app companies, including DoorDash, Uber, Grubhub, and InstaCart, among others.
