The state Public Campaign Finance Board ruled on Tuesday, March 31, that Nassau County Executive Bruce Balkeman would not be eligible to receive public matching funds for the 2026 primary or general election as the Republican gubernatorial candidate runs against Gov. Kathy Hochul.
In a narrow 4-3 vote, the board deemed Blakeman ineligible to receive the funding due to incorrect paperwork his cxampaign filed to qualify for the matching funds program.
