Council Member Julie Won hosted a Women’s History Month Celebration luncheon at LaGuardia Community College Friday afternoon in an event that paid tribute to the late Queens Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan.
Nolan, who died at 67 earlier in March after a prolonged battle with cancer, was honored with a minute’s silence during the event, while a chair was also left empty in her honor. Several speakers and honorees also paid tribute to Nolan during speeches throughout the afternoon at the Wagner Archives in LaGuardia’s C Building.
