Attorney General Letitia James is taking aim at companies that use algorithmic pricing to raise prices on everything you buy based on your own personal data.
James joined elected officials, including Senator Rachel May, Assemblymember Emérita Torres, and several food worker unions at the state capitol in Albany on Monday afternoon to rally in support of the One Fair Price Package. The legislation consists of two bills that, if passed into law, would safeguard New Yorkers from what is known as algorithm pricing, which is also known as surveillance pricing.
