U.S. Rep. Ritchie Torres secured more than $15 million in federal funding for infrastructure, housing and community projects across the district in a sweeping spending package passed Thursday, bringing the total amount of federal funding approved this year to $18,624,000.
Torres’ office said it received more than 100 proposals for Community Project Funding, a program that allows members of Congress to request federal dollars for local initiatives. The office submitted 15 projects to the House Committee on Appropriations — the maximum allowed for fiscal year 2026 under eligibility guidelines.
