Glen Cove adopts $69.3M budget without 2nd public hearing

Glen Cove’s $69.3 million budget for 2026 was adopted under the city charter after council members failed to pass the fiscal plan on Tuesday, Oct. 14. The council broke its customary practice of conducting two public hearings before voting on the budget, opting instead for a single hearing, a move that raised objections from some council members.

The budget received three votes in favor, two against, and one abstention, with the mayor not participating as is required under the city charter.
