While the headlines from Tuesday’s primary in New York focus on George Latimer’s victory over Congress Member Jamaal Bowman for a Bronx/Westchester Congress seat, Manhattan saw incumbents and establishment favorites prevail in a big way.
No real surprises emerged from the June 25 primary in Manhattan, though Democrats in two Manhattan Assembly districts chose likely successors to incumbents slated to retire at the end of this year. With Democrats dominating Manhattan, the primary winners are a virtual shoo-in for victory in the November general election.
