Borough President allocates over $1M to Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health

Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso announced Monday that his office has allocated $1.1 million to Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health to support vital hospital infrastructure.

The funding, which comes from the borough president’s fiscal year 2024 capital funding budget will support new ophthalmology equipment at Gotham Health, East New York as well as replace some outdated ultrasound machinery at Gotham Health, Cumberland and Williamsburg.

The announcement, which took place at Health + Hospital’s Gotham Health, Cumberland medical center on Jan. 8 was particularly poignant for the borough president as he was born at the hospital.

“This place is near and dear to my heart and to come back 40 years later in a giving way really means a lot,” said Reynoso. “It’s essential for our borough, providing healthcare that is high quality and preventative that strives to chip away at decades of inequities in the health system.”
