State Senator Andrew Gounardes, who served in the senate since 2019, faced challenger David Yassky in PoliticsNY’s Democratic primary debate in the race to represent Brooklyn in District 26. Moderated by Jane Hanson and Stephen Witt, the winner will be decided in the upcoming August 23rd Democratic primary election, and will face Brian Fox, the Republican candidate, in the November general election.
