First-time candidate and avid reader Danyela Souza Egorov is running for New York State Senate in recently reconfigured District 29, which now stretches across Lower Manhattan. Danyela is a “kids-first” candidate; watching the disruptions over the past two years has convinced her that children’s education – along with public safety and business-friendly economic policies – are necessary to help New York recover from the pandemic. Having completed a graduate program at Harvard with the support of a scholarship, Danyela understands firsthand the opportunities that access to education provides. When she’s not campaigning, Danyela can be found in the kitchen with her son, creating all sorts of new recipes (all of which are great fun, although not necessarily edible!).
