The New York City Office of Labor Relations may be small, but boy are they mighty! Commissioner Campion, who oversees the negotiation of labor contracts for over 360,000 unionized city workers, describes how her job became much more intense during the pandemic, with a staggering number of time-sensitive decisions needing to be made every day. Commissioner Campion’s office also manages the benefit programs, responsible for providing health benefits to not only city employees, but their families as well – 1.3 million people in all. The OLR is continuing to prioritize the health of city workers, offering resources and programs to encourage employees to look after their physical and mental wellness.
