Kings County Politics today is pleased to announce that Bernadette DeVito has been named Deputy Editor-in-Chief.
“Bernadette, or Bernie, as we sometimes call her, is extremely hard working and intelligent,” said KCP Founder and Editor-In-Chief Stephen Witt. “Since joining KCP several months ago, Bernadette has proven to be both an excellent reporter with a great nose for news and an exceptional manager and trafficker of editorial content.”
Ms. DeVito is earning her Masters in Public Administration from CUNY’s Baruch College – Marxe School of Public & International Affairs; and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mental Health Policy and Politics from The New School’s Eugene Lang College.
“I’m excited to take Kings County Politics to a new level, both as a news source and a brand. KCP inhabits a unique space in journalism; somewhere between community affairs and public policy. I’m looking forward to informing more people, and growing our network in NYC,” said DeVito.
As Deputy Editor, Ms DeVito will help assign and edit stories and be a strong voice in helping shape editorial coverage. She will continue to be the main reporter on all health and mental health-related issues as well as a strong general assignment reporter. She is also the editor of the morning Lawmakers on the Move column and related newsletter.
Please feel free to pitch stories, ideas, comments, etc. to her at BDevito@KingsCountyPolitics.com.
