After nearly three years, hundreds of stories, videos, podcasts and more than a few vodka, tequila and whiskey-filled nights, KCP Senior editor and reporter extraordinaire Kelly Mena will light out of Dodge on July 1 and blaze a new trail for the Brooklyn Eagle.
Kelly has been a blessing to both this publication and me personally. Her reporting, intelligence, passion, writing style, nose for news and humor will be greatly missed. I thank her for all she has done for KCP.
But alas, journalism is often a transient gypsy-like profession. I tend to take things more to heart than most in this line of work, but I’ve been in the game long enough to know it is what it is. People come, people go. Twitters tweet. Facebookers Facebook. Instagrammers Instagram. There’s always great lessons learned in moving on and moving forward.
Fare thee well, Kelly, my amigo, my friend. Sharing the road less traveled with you the past few years has been a great joy and pleasure. Go with God’s grace to actualize your dreams, and kill it at the Eagle and beyond!
