Lewis-Martin, a lifelong Crown Heights and Central Brooklyn resident, first met Adams in 1984 when both her husband and Adams were NYPD cops out of the same precinct. At the time, Lewis-Martin was a public school teacher at Jackie Robinson I.S. 320 in Crown Heights.

She has been with Adams since his political career started, and helped him win the 20th District State Senate Seat in 2006, and worked as his chief of staff in that office,.

Lewis-Martin was a key advisor in Adams winning the borough presidency in 2013 and remains one of his key advisors. Lewis-Martin replaces former Deputy Brough President and City Councilwoman Diana Reyna who resigned last year.

Ryan Lynch

Lynch has served as the policy director in the borough president’s office since 2014. Prior to joining staff, he served as the associate director for the Tri-State Transportation Campaign, a non-profit advocacy organization promoting more walkable, bikeable, and transit-oriented communities.

Lynch began his career in international development, working in Burkina Faso, West Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer and as a community development practitioner in refugee camps along the Thai-Burma border.

“For the past 6 years, Ingrid Lewis-Martin and Ryan Lynch both have proven to be assets to our team, using their knowledge and problem-solving abilities to move our Borough forward. It is a benefit when you can find that skill level within your agency to promote to leadership positions,” said Adams.
