U.S. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-central Brooklyn, Coney Island, Western Queens), a member of House Democratic Leadership and the Budget Committee, yesterday took to the House floor to blast the Republican so-called balanced budget amendment.
During impassioned remarks, he detailed what he called the dire consequences of expensive, reckless wars in the Middle East and budget-busting tax giveaways to millionaires and billionaires.
