For City Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer (D-Astoria, East Elmhurst, Jackson Heights, Long Island City, Maspeth, Sunnyside, Woodside) 2017 was an eventful and challenging year for so many of us in so many ways.
“For me and my team, we faced a short lived but intense primary and a right-wing general election opponent. At the same time a devastating hurricane blew through Puerto Rico, a place Dan and I love so much. All this while running for Speaker and working every day for my district, crisscrossing Queens and the City. It has been busy and challenging, but also successful in many ways,” said Van Bramer.
“The joy comes in not only winning with over 85% of the vote but in the tens of thousands who supported us, voted for me, and the lives we impact. I’m also grateful for the love I have in my life, and I am determined to keep fighting and serving,” he added.
Each year, Van Bramer presents a video highlight reel of the year that was, an important and joyous look back at all he and his supporters and constituents have achieved.
