Shirley Patterson, the Independence Party Candidate in the four-person race for the open 43rd assembly seat, released a comprehensive Youth & Young Adult Resource Guide, today, complete with several dozen listings for everything to summer jobs to getting involved with arts and educational activities to college preparation to services for homeless.
“As a mother and former School Board Member, I know the importance of providing meaningful and enriching educational opportunities for our families,” she said in a statement with the release of the guide. “Please share our resource guide with your friends and neighbors. I will continue to work and deliver for all families in Brooklyn.
The guide comes a few days after one of Patterson’s opponents, Diana Richardson, put out a e-newsletter with important civic meeting events and dates. However, it does indicate that Patterson’s campaign is beginning to kick it up a notch with less than a month to go before the May 5 special election.
Also in the race is Geoffrey Davis and Menachem (Mendy) Raitport. The district includes Crown Heights, Lefferts Gardens, Wingate and East Flatbush.
