U.S. Senator Charles E. Schumer will return to his alma mater, James Madison High School, tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. to speak with the student body and staff members about his experience attending the school.
Schumer graduated from James Madison High School in 1967 at the top of his class and went on to Harvard University.
Established in 1925, James Madison has graduated four Nobel Prize winners, famous musicians such as singer/songwriter Carole King and several government and elected officials including Schumer, U.S. Senators Bernard Sanders (I-VT) and Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
On the more sardonic side, the school also produced Mad Magazine founding publisher William Gaines and actor/comedian Chris Rock, who withdrew before graduation and ultimately studied for and received his GED.
Schumer will speak about his time as a public servant and will convey the importance of serving one’s community.
