After City Councilman and 11th Congressional District candidate Vincent Gentile‘ lack of comment to KCP questions on whether he would attend Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech tomorrow before a joint session of Congress went viral, the candidate did a quick about face this afternoon and staunchly supported the speech.
“While I would have preferred to see proper diplomatic protocol be followed by Speaker Boehner, as the leader of the only democracy in the Middle East, and our key ally, friend and strategic partner in the war on terrorism, the prime minister of Israel will always be welcome in the United States and I would attend any speech he gives here,” said Gentile.
In the KCP story posted this morning, Gentile’s opponent in the Congressional race, Daniel Donovan, staunchly supported the speech.
