Now they’re home tonight with a game against Steph Curry-led Golden State and have a key home playoff battle with Charlotte on Wednesday.
St. Francis College under Coach Glenn Braica has captured the Northeast Conference Championship with a 21-10 mark and with it an automatic bid to the NIT tournament. However, a win in the conference tourney this week will earn the Terriers their first ever bid to the March Madness Division 1 NCAA tourney. Move over St. Johns cause the Saint Francis program is on the rise.
As for the Jefferson High School Orange Wave they’re looking to win the city title after being the bride’s maid going to the finals the past three years. They’re currently in the PSAL semis against an undefeated Wings Academy this week. On the other side of the bracket, the Boys and Girls Kangaroos upset Lincoln and could also make it the finals.
Other borough high schools that are having great basketball seasons are Bedford Academy, Lafayette Campus, and Eagle Academy. On the girl’s side, South Shore remains in the hunt for the PSAL title.
