City Councilman David G. Greenfield is partnering with the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) to offer local residents free legal advice tomorrow Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of his district office 4424 16th Avenue.
Greenfield knows a thing or two about the law as he is an accomplished corporate attorney, who graduated from the highly prestigious and competitive Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC. As an undergrad at Touro College in New York City, he graduated summa cum laude and was valedictorian.
Tomorrow the NYLAG will bring their mobile unit and set up shop in front of his office.
“Everyday my office receives calls from neighbors seeking legal help. The New York Legal Assistance Group has been an invaluable partner in helping assist these people in need with free legal assistance,” said Greenfield. “I am proud to team up with NYLAG this Wednesday to bring their excellent attorneys right to Boro Park to help people one-on-one.”
Greenfield previously hosted the NYLAG mobile legal assistance day in 2013, which was a huge hit with locals. He has also reached out to immigrant residents who were also in need of legal advice twice a month in partnership with the City University of New York Citizen Now project.
All residents who are interested in accessing immigration services are asked to call the Councilman’s district office to set up a one to one counseling appointment. For more information to register and to inquire about the types of services offered, call (718) 853-2704. Be sure to bring required documents including identification to their appointment. – Kaia Zawadi & Stephen Witt
