Pastor James Manning, born in rural North Carolina, overcame a tumultuous past to become a respected spiritual leader and community advocate. Manning experienced incarceration in Florida, working on chain gangs. His life transformed in 1976 when he found salvation while detained in Brooklyn. Following his release, Manning pursued theological education, graduating from Union Theological Seminary in 1985. He has served as a pastor in Harlem for over four decades, founding three schools and providing meals to millions in need. Manning’s journey from adversity to leadership exemplifies resilience and dedication to community service.
