Friendship flags fly from the cockpit as Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida arrives at JFK Airport aboard the governmental Boeing 777 for his attendance at the 10th Review Conference of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) at the United Nations.

This is the first time a Japanese prime minister will meet with world leaders to discuss Nuclear non-proliferation.

The NPT allows for the parties to gather every five years to review its operation. After being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 10th NPT Review Conference will take place at the United Nations headquarters in New York, beginning Monday, Aug. 1.
