As the founder of The Bridge, I am always so proud of the way the Brooklyn Community comes together in a time of a crisis.

As Brooklyn was hit hard by this evil COVID-19  virus an urgent call was getting food and supplies to the needy and elderly who remained isolated in their homes without food and supplies.

Our community leaders, religious, community organizations and elected officials swung into action to fill these needs.

At the Bridge, we converted our beautiful building into a warehouse. The Marine Park JCC along with the Metropolitan Council of Poverty delivered truckloads of food to be distributed to the South Brooklyn communities.

Mr. Shea Rubinstein President of the Marine park JCC and Avi Krauket who personally oversaw the operation worked tirelessly around the clock to ensure delivery for the coming holidays of Passover and Easter.

We are so proud of all the tireless work being done by our community partners including the Council of Peoples Organization (COPO) led by Mohammad Razvi, who conducted a major food distribution at their Coney Island headquarters.

The Purpose Life Church led by Pastor Heston Williams organized many home food deliveries to the needy and elders in our community.

Our Unity In Action Members David Spira founder of The NY rescue team and Miriam Nockenofsky at their own personal risk delivered many food packages to our residents.

Our political leaders Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams. Assemblywoman Rodneyse Bichotte (D-Flatbush, Ditmas Park) and City Councilwoman Farah Louis (D-East Flatbush, Flatbush, Flatlands, Marine Park, Midwood) showed true leadership by keeping us educated to all the updates as where to get help and assistance as well as providing assistance to the medical staff at Kings County Hospital

We are facing an epidemic that we as Americans have never experienced in our lives. Please reach out to your friends and neighbors in this sad and tough times.

A call of emotional support can help save a life. We are all praying for an end to this dreadful epidemic and a return to normalcy. As residents of Brooklyn, we will with Gods help return to a more united community as one.
